General Ledger Accountant

We are seeking to fill an opening in our General Ledger team, based in our Barcelona office, who will be able to work in a multinational, fast-paced environment. To succeed in this role, you should have a task-oriented attitude and be a highly organized individual that demonstrates problem solving skills. Team spirit and professional attitude will be also highly appreciated. The role is suitable for young professionals, willing to gain experience in Accounting in an International environment.

We are looking for a French speaker, a German speaker, and an Italian speaker.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Preparation of monthly tasks such as Payroll, BS recons, SOX binders
  • Analyze on monthly basis the accounts to identify unusual or irregular transactions and make recommendations to resolve
  • Key-figure for quarterly and year-end audits and main contact with the auditors for the preparation of the PBC list
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects
  • Support Team Leader for smooth operation of all transaction parts and monthly reporting
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and assist with mentoring staff to meet all client deadlines

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Good MS Office skills, especially in using Excel
  • Fluency in English and either French, German, or Italian (Written and Verbal Skills)
  • Good knowledge of Accounting Principles and Taxation
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in accounting & taxation
  • Knowledge of French Statutory requirements would be considered an asset
  • Ability to organize large amounts of data
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills with proactive, supportive and positive approach
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Flexibility to travel in accordance with client and other job requirements
  • SAP ERP Knowledge is required
  • SSC environment would be a key asset
