About Jason F. Clausen
Jason Clausen, CPA is an Audit Director at CKH Group at their Michigan office – formerly Jason F. Clausen, P.C., which he founded. His practice centers on audit and attestation services for Professional Employer Organizations and the broader employer-services industry — financial statement audits, 401(k) plan audits, CPEO attestations, quarterly payroll attestations, and SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations.
Jason has worked in public accounting since 1997 and spent 16 years building and leading his own Michigan CPA firm serving this market.
Jason served several years as controller of a PEO, giving him a view of the industry from inside the operations his clients run — an operator’s understanding of payroll, benefits administration, and client-fund flows that informs how he scopes and executes every engagement.
Jason F. Clausen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified in Financial Management (CFM), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Jason has performed peer reviews under the AICPA Peer Review Program since 2016, served five years on the MICPA Eastern Report Acceptance Body, and currently serves the MICPA as a Technical Reviewer and as a Subject Matter Expert for the review of SOC examinations.
Jason holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Economics from Walsh College, where he is currently a doctoral candidate pursuing a dual doctorate in Business Administration and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, expected in 2027.
Outside the office, Jason lives in metro Detroit with his wife and their blended family of five children. He is a devoted movie watcher and football fan, plays bass guitar, and has been known to take a turn at the karaoke microphone.
